Programs

Where the mountains meet the sea, the small town of Carpinteria offers calm coastal waters and a premier setting for youth to learn beach safety, teamwork, and healthy competition through the Carpinteria Junior Lifeguard Program. Our program emphasizes respect for the ocean and beaches, builds confidence through daily physical fitness, and fosters leadership and camaraderie among participants. We are an inclusive program and encourage all interested youth to participate.

Tryouts are required prior to registration for all new participants. Tryouts allow staff to assess swim competency, readiness, and safety skills to ensure appropriate placement and a safe program environment. Age range for this program is ages 6-9.

Only participants who have successfully completed tryouts or have confirmed prior eligibility will be permitted to register. Registration will open after tryouts are completed and verified. Families will receive further instructions regarding registration timelines and payment once eligibility has been confirmed.
